General Education Classes & Internship
Fall and Winter Semester
Throughout the year California State University Bakersfield will be providing students with an opportunity to learn, market, plan, and landscape the Edible Garden in General Education courses that will be offered on campus. One main goal for the faculty at CSUB is to integrate the garden with new General Education programs, as well as Theme classes 'Q, R, & S'; Quality of Life, Revolutionary Ideas & Innovation and Sustainability & Justice. This will give students a chance to see how irrigation and hardscape play vital roles in the success of plant growth as well as the importance of sustainability and healthy living. Internships relating to marketing and sales will be available for those who qualify. Incorporating a living lab on the Edible Garden grounds will provide a learning area for the students & the community, creating a co-curricular activity for classes allowing the faculty at CSUB to use the garden as a learning tool. All in all, the Edible Garden will provide much more than produce for those it serves.

Cooking Classes
11am-2pm 1st Sunday every month
One a month, CSUB's Edible Garden will be hosting cooking classes relating to produce being grown currently in the garden. Showing our guests how to easily incorporate healthy fresh fruits and vegetables into their everyday diet is the purpose of these exciting and fulfilling classes. Chef to table meals will be the aspect of these shows, helping the everyday individual create spectacular healthy meals, all while being money conscious as well- we might add. Fast and easy recipes that will be sure to delight your senses and taste buds will be the goal of all the learning.

Greenery walls, orchards, vineyards, the greenest garden, and beautiful produce all used for your event. We offer a beautiful outdoor event space, perfect for those intimate nights or the nights you want to dance under the moonlight. Nursery Kids Day

A section of California State University Bakersfield's Edible Garden will be devoted for those young bodies, eagar to learn the ins and outs of the gardening and landscaping scene. Parents will be able to sign their children up for these classes in advance, ensuring capacity the day of. CSUB's Edible Garden will also host field trip days, allowing schools, grades K-12, around the Kern Community, to come to CSUB's campus to explore and learn more about healthy living and growing as well as maintaining a garden in their own home or community. More information relating to the Kid's Days & field trips will be available as the garden plans begin to flourish!
